WJC Update

The Avalanche have two prospects participating in the 2017 World Junior Championship, which wrapped up its quarter-final round on Monday. Tyson Jost and the Canadians fought off a tough Czech Republic team to earn a matchup against the Swedes on Wednesday. Team USA will face Russia in the other semi-final.

For his effort, Jost has posted a goal and an assist thus far for Team Canada. The other Avs prospect in the tourney, goaltender Adam Werner, has yet to see any ice time.

Meloche on the Move

As was speculated, 2015 2nd round pick Nicolas Meloche, found a new home during the QMJHL trade period. Meloche, who was traded last season from Baie-Comeau to Gatineau, is now a member of the Charlottetown Islanders. The Avs own the rights to Meloche until June 1st. He did not register a point in his first three games with Charlottetown.
