Avs Ink Julien Nantel

He was the final selection for the Avalanche in the 2014 draft and will likely turn out to be the only professional player for the club from that draft class. That certainly came into the forefront after the club dealt first and third round picks Conner Bleackley and Kyle Wood prior to the trading deadline last week.

It was reported yesterday evening that the Avs had signed the former seventh round pick to an entry-level contract. Nantel is a nice story, a smart defensive player with a solid offensive acumen. He's averaging nearly a point per game this season with Rouyn-Noranda (QMJHL) and gets to play alongside two other Avalanche draftees AJ Greer and JC Beaudin.
