Avs Rookie Camp Day 3

The final day of rookie camp opened with a sparse crowed but filled up with the lure of the Avalanche veterans skating on the other rink at Family Sports. On Wednesday, the goaltenders received coaches instructions as they took shots from Duncan Siemens, Michael Schumacher, and Reid Petryk.

The skaters were ran through a series of intense and active drills and players looked to standout from one another. After a brief recess, the players returned and participated in a controlled scrimmage.

The scrimmage allowed defensemen such as Duncan Siemens and Mason Geertsen to really shine. Siemens had some tough battles particularly with Conner Bleackley and Gustav Olhaver.

JC Beaudin really caught my eye today with his play making and work around the net. He and Michael Schumacher had nice chemistry, which produced a goal in the scrimmage this afternoon.

Conditioning may still be of concern with Alexis Pepin, who seemed to tire as the scrimmage moved along.
