Bleackley Invited to Summer Development Camp

Hockey Canada announced their summer development camp roster on Tuesday. Among the 40 invitees is Avs 2014 first round draft pick Conner Bleackley. Bleackley is coming off a season in which he missed several games due to injury for the Red Deer Rebels. He finished with 27 goals and 22 assists in 51 games.

His accomplishments were strong enough to at least earn him an invite to the development camp, which will take place in the first week of August in Calgary, AB. Bleackley has much to look forward to during the upcoming 2015-16 season. Red Deer will be hosting the Memorial Cup in 2016 and the forward will attempt to impress the Avs brass and garner an entry-level contract.

A spot on the Canadian U20 team is not likely in Bleackley's future, but the invite to the development camp is a positive start on the new campaign.
