Yegor Rykov scored an unassisted goal in the second period that was credited as the game winner. Sergei Boikov was even for the game. The Russians will play the Czech Republic in the quarter-finals.
Finland 5 - Czech Republic 4
Jesse Puljujarvi continues to have a hot stick for Team Finland; scoring twice in the victory. Mikko Rantanen was minus one and had one shot in the game. Finland will take on Canada in the quarter-finals.
Fort Wayne 7 - Indy 0
Garrett Meurs scored twice for the Komets and added an assist. Mike Embach also notched a goal and four assists for Fort Wayne.
North Bay 6 - Mississauga 3
Battalion captain, Mike Amadio, scored twice for his club in the third period to help seal the win. Kyle Wood (4) scored a power play goal late in the opening frame for North Bay. He also was credited with an early second period assist.
Kitchener 5 - Niagara 2
Connor Bunnamann led the way for the Rangers with two goals and an assist. Nick Magyar notched his fourth goal of the season early in the first.
Rouyn-Noranda 2 - Drummondville 1 - F/OT
Julien Nantel was credited with two hits in the game and had a busy evening in the face-off dot; winning 41 percent of his opportunities. AJ Greer is still finding his way with his new situation. He was minus one for the Huskies. JC Beaudin did not suit up due to injury.
Gatineau 6 - Victoriaville 5 - F/OT
Alexandre Goulet had two goals in the loss for the Tigres. Nicolas Meloche scored his first goal since his acquisition by the Olympiques. It was a big tally as it was the overtime winner. He also assisted on a power play goal earlier in the contest.
Val-d'Or 4 - Blainville-Boisbriand 0
The Foreurs had a 25-21 edge in shots in the game. Alexis Pepin assisted on a first period goal for Val-d'Or. He was credited with three hits in the game.
