Greer Officially Joins Rouyn-Noranda

It's old news now, but Avs 2015 second round pick AJ Greer has left Boston University to join Rouyn-Noranda (QMJHL). Greer is expected to make his debut with the Huskies on Dec 28th.

Greer recorded a goal and four assists for the Terriers in 18 games prior to his departure. Bigger things were expected offensively from Greer and he found himself struggling to garner more ice time. It makes one wonder if Greer could have used further development prior to joining BU last season.

Nevertheless, Greer will be joining a Rouyn-Noranda team that currently has the best record in the QMJHL. In addition, he will be playing with two other Avalanche prospects in JC Beaudin and Julien Nantel.

Boikov, Rantanen Represent Colorado at WJC

The annual post-Christmas tournament that features some of the best under-20 players in the world, gets underway on Saturday. That would be the World Junior Championship. The Avalanche look to be represented in the 2016 tournament by Mikko Rantanen (Finland) and Sergei Boikov (Russia).

Host Finland will open the tournament on Saturday against Belarus. Russia will face-off against the Czech Rupublic, also on Saturday.
