Avs Recall Martinsen

With forward Alex Tanguay on the shelf, the Avalanche have recalled forward Andreas Martinsen from the San Antonio Rampage. Martinsen signed with the Avalanche last spring after playing several seasons in Germany. He has a goal and an assist in nine games thus far with the Rampage.

Butcher Captures Weekly Honor Again

Why stop at one? Will Butcher had another four point weekend for the Pioneers (1 G, 3 A); this time against in-state rival Colorado College. The performance earned his second straight NCHC Defesneman of the Week award.

Magyar on the Mend

Nick Magyar has been out of the lineup for the Kitchener Rangers since early October. The forward is hoping to start skating this week according to the Waterloo Region Record.

CHL Canada Russia Series Begins

The WHL opens the six game series with a 7-3 win over Team Russia. Colin Shirley had a goal and three assists for the WHL squad. Conner Bleackley had a goal in the second period.
