AHL

On the strength of three David van der Gulik goals, the Monsters dump Milwaukee 6-1. Joey Hishon opened the scoring with his fifth goal of the season. The lone marker from the Admirals came off the stick of Simon Moser less than a minute after the Monsters tally.

In the second period, the game turned on the heroics of David van der Gulik. At the 40 second mark, van der Gulik gave the Monsters the lead for good with his fourth goal of the season. Later in the period, he would notch his second goal of the game on the power play. He completed the natural hat trick early in the third frame.

Karl Stollery (5) and Mark Olver (9) had the other goals for Lake Erie. The teams came to blows in the third period, which saw a player from each club ejected. For the Monsters, the ejected player was starting goaltender Sami Aittokallio, Aittokallio was tossed at the 10:15 mark of the third period. He had stopped 21 of 22 shots at that point.

Calvin Pickard finished the game and only faced one shot. van der Gulik, Olver, and Aittokallio were named the three stars of the game. The Monsters trail North Division leader Toronto by four points.

Denver blanks Tulsa 2-0. Jean-Philipp Chabot recorded both goals for the Cutthroats. Yet, it was Kent Patterson who came up big for Denver with 41 saves. He was named the first star of the game. Both Denver goals were on the power play.

OHL

Ottawa trips up North Bay 6-5 in overtime. The 67's were efficient, scoring all six of their goals on just 16 shots. Joseph Blandisi played a significant role in the victory. He assisted on a goal in the middle of the third period that would pull the 67's to within one goal of the Battalion. With 69 seconds left in regulation, Blandisi tied the game on the power play. Tyler Hill would be the hero in the overtime session. Blandisi was named the first star of the game. 

WHL

Prince George upends Kamloops 3-1. Zach Pochiro and Klarc Wilson each had a goal and an assist for the Cougars. Troy Bourke was penalized for roughing in the third period. Prince George doubled up Kamloops in shots 40-20.

Vancouver falls to Kelowna 4-2. Both goals for the Giants were on the power play. Myles Bell led the Rockets with two goals and an assist. Mason Geertsen was penalized for tripping in the opening period. Bell was named the first star of the game.

NCAA

Mariucci Classic -- Third Place Game -- Minneapolis, MN

Minnesota thumps RPI 6-2. Kyle Rau had two goals for the victorious Gophers. Nate Condon finished with two shots and a minus one rating on the evening. Travis Boyd and Ben Marshall each had two assists for Minnesota. The Gophers improve to 13-2-3 on the season.
