Lake Erie falls to Toronto in a shoot-out 3-2. The Monsters started off the game strong, scoring both regulation goals in the opening period by Andrew Agozzino (10) and Cam Reid (2). Calvin Pickard is starting games in the absence of Sami Aittokallio, who was recalled to the Colorado Avalanche and was in net on Saturday night against Tampa.
Pickard kept the Marlies off the board until the 18:12 mark of the first period when Stuart Percy beat him for his first goal of the season. Pickard made 29 saves during regulation and overtime.
Lake Erie came up empty handed on four shoot-out opportunities; whereas the Marlies capitalized twice.
Sudbury uses three third period goals to upend Barrie 4-2. Four different skaters scored for the Wolves. Joseph Blandisi assisted on a first period power play goal for the Colts. The Colts finished 1-7 with the man advantage. Blandisi was minus one for the game.
North Bay tops Peterborough 3-1. Michael Clarke had the lone goal for the Petes, his 15th of the season. After tying the game in the second period, the winning marker for the Battalion came with 54 seconds remaining in regulation.
