Owen Sound upends Mississauga 5-3. Gemel Smith was the offensive star for the Attack with a hat trick. Spencer Martin  started the game for the Steelheads. He stopped just 17 of 21 shots for his club. The teams combined for five power play goals in the game.

Ottawa scores three times in the third period, storms back to beat Belleville 5-4. One of the third period tallies did belong to Joseph Blandisi , who also had an assist in the same period. His goal turned out to be the game winner.    


Defending WHL champ Portland, dumps Prince George 9-2. After being sent down by the Avalanche, it was announced that Troy Bourke  would be captain for the Cougars for the 2013-14 season. For the game, Bourke was minus two and found himself in the penalty box for slashing in the third period. The Winterhawks dominated the contest with five strikes on the power play.

Victoria doubles up Vancouver 4-2. The Royals scored three times in the second period. Mason Geertsen  struggled in his return from Avalanche training camp and was minus three. Austin Carroll had the hot stick for the Royals with a hat trick.
