AHL

Chicago upends Lake Erie 5-2. The Monsters had a 42-23 shot advantage. The Wolves scored three times on the power play. Past the midway point of the first period, Chicago scored a quick pair of goals before Tomas Vincour (18) got the Monsters on the board. 

In the second period, Lake Erie fell behind 4-1. Paul Carey (19) brought the Monsters within two with a power play marker. Yet, the Monsters were shutout the rest of the game. The Wolves added another goal in the final period.

Sami Aittokallio didn't make it out of the second period. He was pulled after allowing four Chicago goals on just 13 shots.  Calvin Pickard finished the game stopping nine of 10 shots. The Monsters end the regular season on Saturday.

Western Conference Championship -- Game 1

London edges Plymouth 2-1. The clubs combined to go 0-8 on the power play. Ryan Rupert opened the scoring with six seconds remaining in the first period. The teams exchanged goals in the second period in a span of 1:09. Remi Elie was credited with the game winner for the Knights. Mitch Heard and Garrett Meurs were even and minus one for the game respectively.

Eastern Conference Championship -- Game 2 -- 1-0 Calgary

Edmonton dumps Calgay 6-0; evens series. Martin Gernat had two goals and two assists for the Oil Kings. Trevor Cheek capped off the scoring for Edmonton with 10 seconds remaining in the game. He has seven goals this post season. Edmonton scored five times in the final period. Nearly 150 minutes in penalties were handed out in the contest.

Western Conference Championship -- Game 1

Portland skates past Kamloops 4-1. Colin Smith returned to the lineup for the Blazers, but was not a factor offensively. Ty Rattie had a goal and two assists for the triumphant Winterhawks. Potential top pick Seth Jones was plus two for Portland. Former Avs prospect Troy Rutkowski scored his third goal of the playoffs. Kamloops struggled with the man advantage, going 0-5.
