Chicago scores three times in the third period, topples Lake Erie 5-2. The main highlight in the game for the Monsters was the first professional goal for former Avs 2010 first round pick Joey Hishon. Brett Sterling had a hat trick for the Wolves. The other tally for the Monsters belonged to Stephan Elliott (5). Hishon also assisted on the goal. Sami Aittokallio gave up all five Chicago goals on 27 shots. Lake Erie has won on three of their last 10 games.

Opening Round -- Game 2 -- 1-0 Denver

Allen doubles up Denver 4-2; ties series at one game a piece. Kieran Millan stopped 22 shots for Denver in the loss. The Cutthroats were down 3-0 before Jamie MacQueen and Brad Smyth brought the club within a goal. Trevor Ludwig of the Americans ended any opportunity of a come back with an empty net tally with 26 seconds remaining in regulation.


First Round -- Game 5 -- 3-1 Quebec

Chicoutimi upends Quebec 3-1. Charles Hudon scored twice for the Saguenéens. Dillon Donnelly was minus one for the Remparts and served an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the opening period. Christopher Gibson stopped 39 shots for Chicoutimi; earning first star of the game honors.


National Tournament West Regional Semifinal

Yale stuns Minnesota in overtime 3-2. After a scoreless opening period, Kenny Agostino notched his 16th goal of the season for the Bulldogs. Gus Young fired his second tally of the year past Adam Wilcox to give Yale a 2-0 lead by the end of the second period. With a ferocious third period effort, the Gophers tied the game. Yet, within the blink of an eye, Jesse Root ended Minnesota's season; scoring just nine seconds into the overtime session. Nate Condon was held to one shot in the game. He finishes his junior season with 12 goals and 19 assists in 40 games.
