Toronto doubles up Lake Erie 4-2. The Monsters have lost three in a row to the Marlies. The game marked the return of Avalanche 2010 first round pick Joey Hishon, to the lineup. Hishon, who played in his first game in nearly two games, had three shots in the contest.
John Negrin scored the first goal for the Monsters in the second period, after the club fell behind 2-0. The Monsters did not have much trouble mustering shots on goal, but could not capitalize on their opportunities. The Marlies were more precise, especially early in the third period when Joe Colborne gave Toronto a two goal lead. The former DU Pioneer would also add two assists.
Andrew Agozzino scored the second goal of the night for the Monsters with seconds left in regulation, following an empty net tally for the Marlies. In goal, Sami Aittokallio, made 20 saves.
Quad City edges Denver in overtime 4-3. All three regulation goals for the Mallards were in the second period. After falling behind 3-0, Denver tied the game with goals from Jamie MacQueen, Gabe Gauthier, and Joel Chouinard. Kent Patterson stopped only 17 shots. For Quad City, the winning tally came off the stick of Michael Monfredo at the 2:23 mark of the overtime session.
