Peterborough edges Kingston in overtime 5-4. Stephen Pierog scored twice in the game, including the game winner, for the Petes. Michael Clarke was minus two in the game and took the only penalty in the contest for the Petes. It was a holding minor in the third period.
Oshawa trims Ottawa 6-5 in a shoot-out. The 67's scored three times in the third to force overtime. Joseph Blandisi had three assists for Ottawa. The Generals scored on their first two opportunities in the shoot-out; whereas Ottawa was held at bay.
Saskatoon falls to Prince Albert in overtime 6-5. The teams combined for five goals in the opening period. Nathan Burns scored twice for the visiting Blades. Duncan Siemens was credited with a couple of power play assists. Leon Draisaitl had the game winner for the Raiders.
Kamloops skates past Prince George 5-2. The loss eliminates the Cougars from playoff contention. Colin Smith recorded a couple of assists for the Blazers. He ended the evening with a plus two rating. Troy Bourke was minus four for the Cougars. Tim Bozon had four points for Kamloops. The Blazers have won six of their last 10 games.
Michigan nips Western Michigan 4-3. Luke Moffatt was called for interference in the opening period. He finished with two shots in the game. Jacob Trouba scored twice on three shots for the Wolverines. His second goal was credited as the game winner.
ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals
Yale dumps St. Lawrence 6-1. The Saints were held to 13 shots on goal. Gus Young assisted on a late first period goal for Yale. The tally turned out to be the game winner. The Bulldogs top line of Kenny Agostino, Jesse Root, and Andrew Miller accounted for four of the team's goals.
WCHA First Round
Minnesota trips up Bemidji State in overtime 2-1. Kyle Rau was the overtime hero for the Gophers with his 15th tally of the season. Nate Condon finished with two shots on net for Minnesota. Seven of the 18 Beavers shots on goal were in the overtime period.
