Lake Erie skates past Milwaukee 3-1. All three scores for the Monsters came on the power play. David van der Gulik (8) opened the scoring near the midway point of the first period. Chris Mueller tied it for the Admirals before the close of the period.
After a scoreless second period, van der Gulik (9) scored his second of the night. Bill Thomas added his 19th of the season late in regulation. Karl Stollery had two helpers for the Monsters. Calvin Pickard made 27 saves for Lake Erie. The Monsters have a tenuous hold of sixth place in the Western Conference.
Quebec upends Chicoutimi 5-3. Each club scored once with the man advantage. Dillon Donnelly was called for tripping in a penalty filled first period. Martin Lefebvre had two assists for Quebec. The Remparts have won back to back games.
Saskatoon blanks Red Deer 4-0. The Blades extend their winning streak to 16 games. Saskatoon carried a 51-24 shot advantage in the contest. Duncan Siemens assisted on a late second period goal for the Blades and finished the evening with a plus two rating. Saskatoon was 0-5 on the power play.
