Lake Erie upends Abbotsford 4-1. The Monsters have won five of six games and currently hold first place in the North Divison. The Heat took a 1-0 lead with 14 seconds remaining in the first period. Paul Carey tied the game in the second with his 8th goal of the season. The marker by Carey was short-handed.
Brad Malone was credited with the game winner when he scored just 45 seconds into the final frame. Gabriel Beaupre would score his first goal as a Monster 2:16 after Malone's tally. Bill Thomas closed out the scoring late in the third, on the power paly, with his 17th of the season.
Malone, Carey, and Thomas were named the three stars of the game. Calvin Pickard stopped 23 of 24 shots he faced. He now has 13 wins on the season. The two clubs will face each other again on Friday evening.
Peterborough tops Windsor 7-5. The teams combined to score six goals in the second period. Michael Clarke potted his 9th and 10th goals of the season. He was penalized for goaltender interference and roughing in the second period. Clarke was named the third star of the game. The Petes have won their fourth game in their last 10 contests.
