Friday Scoreboard

Rockford upends Lake Erie 5-2. The IceHogs scored three times within the first eight minutes of the contest. Rockford also scored two late markers in the second period. Drew LeBlanc had two goals for the IceHogs. 

Paul Carey  (1) finally got the Monsters on the board early in the third period. Bryan Lerg  (3) was credited with the second goal of the game for Lake Erie. Calvin Pickard  was in net for all five goals for Rockford. He was replaced late in the second frame by Sami Aittokallio , who stopped all eight shots he faced.  The club drops to 1-3 to start the season.

Rapid City edges Denver 4-3 in overtime in their exhibition opener. Kieran Millan  and Kent Patterson  each played a half of the game. Both netminders gave up two goals on 15 shots. Millan was the goaltender of record in the loss. TJ Fox, Michael Trebish, and Garett Bembridge all scored for the Cutthroats. 


Peterborough trims North Bay 2-1. Shots were tough to come by in this contest; North Bay had a 24-19 edge. The game winner in the third period was off the stick of Michael Clarke . The Petes capitalized on a power play opportunity to earn the victory. Clarke was named the first star of the game.  

Guelph tops Ottawa 5-1. Scott Kosmachuk scored twice for the Storm. Joseph Blandisi  was minus one for the 67's. His club was 0-4 on the power play, whereas the Storm converted on 2-3 opportunities.


Vancouver falls to Regina 5-4 in overtime. The Pats were efficient; scored all five goals on just 17 shots. Mason Geertsen  was minus two and served a delay of game penalty in the second period. Boston Leier had a hat trick for Regina.

Everett nips Prince George in a shoot-out 3-2. Alex Forsberg had two helpers for the Cougars. Troy Bourke  was even for the game and did not get an opportunity in the shoot-out. The Silvertips won the shoot-out 2-1.



Denver blanks Merrimack 1-0. Daniel Doremus tipped a Nolan Zajac point shot early in the first period to score the game's only goal. Sam Brittain made 25 saves to earn the shutout. Will Butcher  had one shot in the game and was paired with David Makowski for the majority of the game.

Game Story

St Cloud State downs Bemidji State 3-2. The Beavers were held to 16 shots in the game. Ben Storm  was paired with Jarrod Rabey for his first collegiate game. Storm was minus one on the evening. The teams combined for four goals in the second period. The winning tally for the Huskies was short-handed.

Ice Breaker Tournament (Minneapolis, MN) 

Minnesota hammers Mercyhurst 6-0. The Gophers dominant offensive attack led to 48 shots. Nate Condon  assisted on a second period power play goal. He had three shots in the game. Kyle Rau and Sam Warning each had a goal and two assists for Minnesota. Mercyhurst was 0-5 on the power play.
