AHL

Charlotte scores three times in the third period, blanks Lake Erie 4-0. Kieran Millan made his AHL debut stopping 22 shots. The Checkers broke the game open in the third frame with three scores; two by Zac Dalpe. The Monsters struggled to muster many shots, 23, and found themselves 0-4 on the power play. Millan was reassigned to Denver (CHL) following the game.

Denver falls to Quad City 5-3. Kent Patterson gave up all five Quad City goals on 41 shots. Joel Chouinard assisted on Luke Fulghum's first period goal. The Mallards were 2-3 on the power play. Denver is 5-6-2 on the road.

OHL

Plymouth holds off Owen Sound 4-3. The Attack struck three times in the third period to tie the game, before the Whalers won it with a later power play tally. Joseph Blandisi assisted on one of the third period goals for Owen Sound. Mitchell Heard had a quiet offensive game for the Whalers and was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct in the opening frame. Garrett Meurs had the secondary assist on the game winning power play goal with 13 seconds left in regulation. The Whalers have won three straight.

Sarnia upends Windsor 8-5. The Spitfires have dropped seven straight games. The Sting opened the game with four first period goals. Michael Clarke was minus three for Windsor and served a delay of game minor in the second period. Charles Sarault and Nikolay Goldobin each had two goals for Sarnia.

QMJHL

Quebec dumps Rouyn-Noranda 6-1. The Huskies were 0-8 on the power play. Dillon Donnelly was plus three for the Remparts and was credited with one hit in the contest. He was penalized for roughing in the opening period. Quebec has won back-to-back games.

WHL

Saskatoon doubles up Prince Albert 6-3. Josh Nicholls scored twice for the Blades. Duncan Siemens was called for holding and slashing minors in the second and third periods respectively. Each club scored once on the power play. Saskatoon is 6-4 in their last 10 games.

Kamloops hammers Seattle 6-1. Colin Smith had a rare pointless game. Kale Kessy, who was recently acquired from the Vancouver Giants, scored twice for the Blazers.  Kamloops scored twice with the man advantage. The club extends their winning streak to three games.

Kelowna tops Prince George 4-2. The teams combined to go 0-5 on the power play. Troy Bourke was minus two for the Cougars. His club is now winless in their last four games.

NCAA

Non-Conference

Yale and Boston College skate to a 3-3 tie. The Eagles were held to 22 shots. Gus Young had two shots on goal for the Bulldogs. Each team scored once on the power play. Kevin Hayes had two assists for Boston College. Yale's record stands at 7-4-3.

Exhibition

The US Under-18 team skates past Michigan 5-3. Luke Moffatt had a single shot on net and was minus one for the game. Lee Moffie had two goals for the Wolverines in the exhibition contest. Tyler Motte had a couple of tallies for the U18 squad.
