Lake Erie skates past San Antonio 5-1. The Monsters Dean Strong (2) had the only goal in the first period. Paul Carey (5) gave Lake Erie a 2-0 lead with a power play tally. Bill Thomas would add to the lead in the second period with his 12th of the season.
The Rampage scored their lone goal in the third period off the stick of Jon Sim. Andrew Agozzino and Thomas capped off the scoring for the Monsters. The aforementioned Thomas, Carey, and Agozzino were named the stars of the game. Mike Connolly added two assists.
Calvin Pickard stopped 28 of 29 shots. He reaches the 10 win mark. The two teams will face each other again on Friday.
Peterborough squeaks out a 3-2 shoot-out win over Kitchener. Michael Clarke suited up in his first game for the Petes since his trade to the club on Wednesday. Clarke was unable to convert on his shoot-out opportunity, but his new club won the shoot-out 1-0. The Petes have won three of their last four games.
Quebec falls to Chicoutimi 4-1. The Remparts were held to just 17 shots in the contest. Dillon Donnelly was minus one for Quebec and was penalized twice for roughing. The Remparts have lost two straight games.
