Saturday Scoreboard


Lake Erie blanks Hamilton 4-0. Calvin Pickard stopped all 17 shots he faced. Slumping Stefan Elliott had a breakout game offensively with his second and third goals of the season. Mark Olver (6) and Bill Thomas (10) scored for the Monsters in the third period. Former Avalanche farmhand, Cedrick Desjardins, was pulled in the third period. He allowed all four Monsters goals on 41 shots.

Brad Malone contributed with two assists. The Monsters were 2-7 on the power play. Elliott, Thomas, and Pickard were named the three stars of the game. Lake Erie finishes 2012 two games over 0.500.

Denver skates past Rapid City 4-1. The Cutthroats scored twice in the opening period. On special teams, Denver was 0-4; whereas the lone Rush tally was scored on the power play. Kent Patterson made 34 saves and earned his 10th win in 16 starts.


London doubles up Plymouth 4-2. The Knights extend their winning streak to 23 games. Garrett Meurs was credited with a third period assist. He was awarded a penalty shot late in regulation in which he was unable to convert. The clubs combined to go 0-5 on the power play. 

Saginaw dumps Windsor 8-3. The Spirit found the back of the net five times in the second period. Michael Clarke was minus two for the Spitfires, but did earn a first period assist for his club. Windsor has dropped five straight.


Kamloops throttles Vancouver 9-5. The Blazers connected on five of eight power play opportunities. Colin Smith assisted on one of those power play goals in the first period and scored his 27th goal of the season in the second frame. Tim Bozon and Cole Ully each had a hat trick for Kamloops.

Prince George blows three goal lead, falls to Victoria in a shoot-out 4-3. Troy Bourke assisted on both of Chase Witala's goals. The Royals won the shoot-out 2-0. The teams combined to score three power play goals during regulation.

Prince Albert scores four times in the first, holds off Saskatoon 4-2. Neither team was able to score on the power play. Anthony Bardaro had a first period hat trick for the Raiders. Duncan Siemens was minus three for the Blades.


Mariucci Classic (Minneapolis, MN)

Minnesota shuts down Air Force 4-0. The Falcons were held to 18 shots on goal. Nate Condon scored his fourth goal of the season late in the third period. Erik Haula had a goal and an assist for Minnesota. The Gophers improve to 12-3-3.

Great Lakes Invitational (Detroit, MI)

Michigan Tech stuns Michigan 4-0. Luke Moffatt had four shots on goal for the Wolverines. Alex Petan scored twice for the Huskies. The Wolverines fall to 5-10-3.
