AHL

Rochester skates past Lake Erie 4-1. The Monsters had the edge in shots 37-30. The lone Lake Erie goal came in the second period off the stick of Dean Strong (1) on the power play. Despite their offensive short comings, the biggest concern for the Monsters was the departure of starting goaltending Sami Aittokallio after the second period. He allowed three Amerks goals before leaving the game.

Calvin Pickard played the third period and stopped five of six shots for Lake Erie. Andrew Agozzino and Stefan Elliott each had five shots on goal to lead the Monsters. Kieran Millan was recalled from the Denver Cutthroats (CHL) following the contest.

Rapid City scores three times in the second period, upends Denver 4-1. The Cutthroats were 0-5 with the man advantage. Kieran Millan faced 50 shots in the game; stopping 46 before his recall to Lake Erie. Chris Greene had the lone goal for Denver early in the second frame.

OHL

Owen Sound dumps Erie 6-1. The Attack capitalized on three of their six power play chances. Holden Cook was the offensive star for Owen Sound with two goals. Joseph Blandisi found himself in the penalty box for holding in the second period. 

QMJHL

Baie-Comeau doubles up Quebec 4-2. Felix Girard and Raphael Bussieres each scored twice for the Drakkar. Dillon Donnelly was called for a holding minor early in the third period. He was plus one for the game for the Remparts.

WHL

Prince Albert edges Saskatoon 5-4. The Blades scored three times in the second period. Duncan Siemens was assessed a hooking minor late in the second period. Saskatoon was 0-4 on the power play. The winning tally for the Raiders was scored with under five minutes remaining in regulation.

Victoria tops Prince George 5-1. Ben Walker scored twice for the Royals. Troy Bourke had the only assist on the lone Cougars goal. Prince George finished 0-3 on the power play.

NCAA

Exhibition

Yale throttles the Russian Red Stars 10-2. As expected, the Bulldogs dominated the shots on goal 58-23. Gus Young did not factor in on the scoring and was even for the exhibition game. Yale was 3-6 with the man advantage.

Europe

Elitserien

Linköpings HC trims HV71 5-4. Joachim Nermark earned his fourth point of the season with an assist on a first period goal. He finished with one shot in the game.

Frölunda HC trips up Växjö Lakers HC 3-2. Jonas Holos had five shots on goal for the Lakers and recorded his fourth goal of the season in the contest.
