Lake Erie doubles up Texas 8-4. Calvin Pickard made his first professional start after relieving Cedrick Desjardins on Saturday evening. He made 25 saves in the game. Pickard was given support early and often in the first period with four goals scored in the frame by the Monsters.
Mike Connolly (13), Evan Brophey (18), Justin Mercier (13), and Cameron Gaunce (6) had the goals. Connolly's came just 36 seconds into the contest. The Stars fired three goals past Pickard in the second period, but Eric Hunter (5) and Ryan Stoa (12) answered back for the Monsters.
Peter MacArthur (4) and Stoa (13) capped off the scoring for the Monsters in the final period. They were named the first and second stars of the game respectively. Lake Erie resides in ninth place in the Western Conference with four games remaining in the regular season.
