The club lost the shoot-out 2-0. The Monsters will try to get back on track when they host the Texas Stars on Tuesday.

Rimouski dumps Val-d-Or 8-5; the same score in which the Oceanic beat the Foreurs on Friday night. Gabriel Beaupre did not factor in the game offensively and finished the night with an even rating. Each team scored three times on the power play. Game three is set for Tuesday.
Eastern Conference Quarterfinals -- Best-of-7 -- 1-0 Medicine Hat
Saskatoon falls to Medicine Hat 5-3. The Blades were out shot 40-28. Duncan Siemens found himself in the penalty box for slashing late in the third period. The Tigers scored three times on the power play. The Blades will try to dig out of their 0-2 hole on Tuesday.
Western Conference Quarterfinals -- Best-of-7 -- 1-0 Portland
Portland takes a 2-0 series lead, blanks Kelowna 4-0. Troy Rutkowski opened the scoring on the power play in the second period with his first goal of the playoffs. He was plus two for the night and was named the first star of the game.
West Regional (St. Paul, MN)
In a battle of Avalanche goaltending prospects, Minnesota upends Boston University 7-3. Nate Condon had two shots skating on the third line for the Gophers. He assisted on a second period goal for Minnesota and ended the game with a plus one rating. Kent Patterson stopped 31 shots for the Gophers to earn his 27th win of the season. Minnesota will face North Dakota in the regional final.
For Kieran Millan, his college career ends on a bitter note. He gave up five goals on 40 shots. Millan hasn't quite lived up to his freshman campaign, in which he won 29 games enroute to a national championship. He wraps up his senior season with a record of 20-14-1, goals against average of 2.60, and save percentage of 0.923.
Northeast Regional (Worcester, MA)
Boston College shuts down Air force 2-0. The Eagles will face defending champion Minnesota-Duluth in the regional final. Paul Carey had a strong game for BC, as he fired nine shots on the Falcons net. He was even for the game. Boston College was 1-5 with the man advantage.
