Eastern Conference Quarterfinals -- Best-of-7 -- 1-0 Ottawa

Ottawa doubles up Belleville 4-2. The teams combined to go 0-9 on the power play. Stephen Silas was minus one for the Bulls. He was assessed a high sticking penalty late in the first period. The series will resume on Sunday for game two.

Eastern Conference Quarterfinals -- Best-of-7 -- Game 1

Brampton shuts down Sudbury 4-0. The Wolves were held to 19 shots on goal. Michael Sgarbossa was even for the game and held in check all night by the Battalion. Brampton was 1-6 on the power play. Game two is set for Sunday afternoon.

QMJHL

First Round -- Best-of-7 -- Game 1

Val-d'Or falls to Rimouski 8-5. The Oceanic scored five times in the final period. Gabriel Beaupre had one shot in the game for the Foreurs. He was assessed roughing and slashing penalties in the first and second periods respectively. Val-d'Or was 1-6 on the power play.

WHL

Eastern Conference Quarterfinals -- Best-of-7 -- Game 1

Medicine Hat upends Saskatoon 5-2. Each team recorded a power play goal in the game. Duncan Siemens notched his first goal of the playoffs late in the second period. He was penalized for roughing and holding in the second period and received another roughing minor in the final frame. 

Western Conference Quarterfinals -- Best-of-7 -- Game 1

Portland skates past Kelowna 6-3. The Winterhawks fired 55 shots on the Rockets net. Troy Rutkowski did not have a point in the game, but was plus two for Portland. The Winterhawks scored three times in the second and third periods.

NCAA

Midwest Regional (Green Bay, WI)

Cornell upsets Michigan in overtime 3-2. The winning tally for the Big Red came at the 3:35 mark in the first overtime session. Luke Moffatt had three shots for the Wolverines in the game. He had the primary assist on the game tying goal for Michigan that was scored in the third period. However, he was on the ice for the season ending goal. The sophomore finishes with six goals and 10 assists in 40 games.
