Chicago shuts down Lake Erie 1-0. The costly loss drops the Monsters to ninth place in the Western Conference. Lake Erie was held to 19 shots in the game. The lone goal was scored in the second period, short-handed, by former Av Steve Reinprecht. Cedrick Desjardins, who was named the third star of the game, stopped 41 shots in the loss.

Belleville blanks Sudbury 2-0. Both goals for the Bulls were scored in the final period. Stephen Silas was on the ice for both goals and finishes the regular season with six goals and 26 assists in 67 games; four fewer points than in 2010-11. For Michael Sgarbossa, he has one game remaining in the regular season to try to win the OHL scoring title. He is one point behind Tyler Toffoli (Ottawa). The 67's also play on Sunday.

Sarnia scores four times in the third period, dumps Plymouth 6-2. Garrett Meurs assisted on a first period goal for the Whalers. However, he would later leave the game and not return due to an undisclosed injury. Plymouth will face Guelph in the opening round of the playoffs.


Val-d'Or skates past Baie Comeau 7-4. The Foreurs finish the regular season having won eight of their last 10 games. Gabriel Beaupre was plus two for the game. He finishes the regular season with six goals and 15 assists in 62 games. 


Swift Current upends Saskatoon 7-3. The Blades finish the regular season having won only four of their last 10 games. Duncan Siemens was minus three for Saskatoon. Siemens only suited up for 57 games this season and had six goals and 22 assists in those games. Saskatoon will face Medicine Hat in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.

Everett tops Seattle 6-4. The Thunderbirds, who are trying to clinch the last playoff spot in the Western Conference, had a 4-3 lead entering the third period. However, the Silvertips scored three unanswered goals in the final frame. Calvin Pickard made 35 saves in the contest. Seattle will have one last opportunity to clinch a playoff berth as they end the regular season on Sunday against Portland.


CCHA Tournament Championship Game

Western Michigan holds off Michigan 3-2 to win the Mason Cup. After falling behind 3-0, the Wolverines scored twice in the third period, but just ran out of time. Luke Moffatt assisted on one of the third period tallies for Michigan. He finished with three shots in the game.

Hockey East Tournament Championship Game

Boston College secured a number one seed in the upcoming National Tournament by defeating Maine 4-1. Paul Carey assisted on a goal for the Eagles scored late in the second period. He fired five shots on goal and had a minus one rating in the contest.
