Lake Erie scores three times in the second period, edges Hershey 4-3. Cedrick Desjardins returned to the lineup after a two month absence and made 27 saves. He was named the third star of the game.

Down 1-0 after the first period, Patrick Rissmiller (9) tied the game at the 6:55 mark of the second period. Patrick Bordeleau gave the club a 2-1 lead with his fourth of the season. Zach Cohen (2) put the Monsters up 3-1 before the end of the second frame.

An early third period power play goal pulled the Bears within one before the Monsters pulled away for good on a power play tally of their own by Peter MacArthur (2). The Bears did have a late goal in the contest, but were unable to find the tying score. Cohen and MacArthur were named the first and second stars of the game respectively.

Djurgårdens IF trims Växjö Lakers HC 2-1. Jonas Holos was even for the game, but did not record a shot on goal. He played in just over 22 minutes for the Lakers.


Tappara upends Ilves 5-3. In his first start of 2012 for Ilves, Sami Aittokallio had 32 saves in the loss.
