In an afternoon affair, Toronto skates past Lake Erie 4-1. Peter MacArthur opened the scoring with his first goal in a Monsters uniform on the power play in the first period. The Marlies responded with four unanswered. Lake Erie finished 1-6 with the man advantage.
Gerald Coleman stopped 26 shots in the loss. Cameron Gaunce and Brad Malone assisted on the lone Monsters goal. Evan Brophey led the team in shots with six. Patrick Rissmiller missed on a penalty shot in the opening frame. Lake Erie will host Hershey on Thursday evening.
Erie upends Belleville 4-1. The Bulls carried a 42-33 shot advantage in the game. Each club was 0-3 on the power play. Stephen Silas had the secondary assist on the lone goal scored by Belleville in the third period. He was minus two for the game. The Bulls have fallen to ninth place in the Eastern Conference with the loss.
