AHL

Lake Erie edges Peoria 3-2. The Monsters won three of four games on their recent road trip. Lake Erie was held to five shots in the first period and fell behind 1-0. TJ Hensick gave the Rivermen a 2-0 lead before new addition Dean Strong got the Monsters on the board later in the second period. Danny Richmond (2) tied the game at two on the power play with 48 seconds remaining in the second frame.

Patrick Rissmiller (5) had the deciding goal late in the third period, also on the power play. He was named the first star of the game. Gerald Coleman turned in another solid performance with 32 saves. Richmond earned third star of the game honors. The Monsters return home on Sunday to face Syracuse.

Belleville trips up Kingston in overtime 3-2. The Bulls had 17 shots in the third period and 45 for the game. Stephen Silas assisted on a short-handed goal scored in the third period. Belleville has won just their third game in their last 10 contests.

London out lasts Plymouth 8-6. Shots in the game were 53-45 for the Knights. Garrett Meurs assisted on a power play goal in the third period and scored a power play goal of his own in the same frame. The Whalers are 6-4 in their last 10 games.

QMJHL

Moncton upends Val-d'Or 3-1. The lone Foreurs goal was scored on the power play early in the third period. Gabriel Beaupre finished with a shot on goal and was minus one for the night. Val-d'Or has dropped seven of their last 10.

WHL

Spokane comes back to beat Seattle 5-4. The Chiefs were 0-5 on the power play, while the Thunderbirds were 2-5. Calvin Pickard stopped 27 shots in the loss. The game tying and game winning goals were scored within a span of 35 seconds in the third period. Seattle has suffered their eighth loss in their last 10 games.

Portland doubles up Tri-City 4-2. Five of the six goals scored in the game came in the third period; three belonged to the Winterhawks. Troy Rutkowski assited on the empty net goal and was even for the game. Portland has won back-to-back games.

CCHA

Michigan State trims Michigan 3-2. Each team has 30 shots on goal. Luke Moffatt was held to a single shot on net and was minus one on the night. The Wolverines came up empty on three power play chances. The club falls to 17-10-4.

ECAC

Yale falls to Colgate 4-2. Three power play goals were scored in the game. Gus Young registered three shots on goal for the Bulldogs. The team now sits two games under 0.500 at 10-12-2.

Hockey East

Massachusetts stuns Boston University 3-2. Kieran Millan stopped 34 shots for the Terriers. Despite the loss, he was named the second star of the game. UMass scored twice on the power play en route to the upset. BU drops to 17-9-1.

Boston College hammers Vermont 6-1. The Eagles scored four times in the second period, including twice on the power play. Paul Carey assisted on one of those second period goals and finished the game with three shots. He earned a slashing minor late in the third period. BC has won their 18th game of the season.

WCHA

Denver skates past second ranked Minnesota 5-3. Nate Condon had six shots for the Gophers and had an unassisted goal to opening the scoring in the first period. He was called for interference in the second frame. Kent Patterson had a less than stellar performance for the Gophers and stopped 29 shots in the loss. The two clubs will face-off once again on Saturday.
