Saturday Scoreboard


Lake Erie edges Abbotsford 4-3 in a shoot-out. The Monsters opened the scoring at the 3:46 mark of the first period off of the stick of Brad Malone (2). Bryan Lerg (4) gave Lake Erie a 2-1 lead before the Heat tied it late in the first period.

Abbotsbord had the only goal in the second frame by Ben Street. Michael Sgarbossa (3) notted the game at three in the middle of the third period. The Monsters power play struggled, going 0-6. Calvin Pickard didn't face too many shots and made 17 saves for Lake Erie. 

Lerg and Sgarbossa scored for the Monsters in the shoot-out; who won it 2-1. Sgarbossa, Lerg, and Pickard were named the three stars of the game. Geoff Walker contributed with two assists. Lake Erie has won five of their first eight games.

Rapid City doubles up Denver 4-2. The Cutthroats fall to 1-3 on the season. Kent Patterson made 25 saves in the loss. Gabriel Beaupre had one shot for Denver and found himself in the penalty box for holding in the second period. Ben Wilson was credited with one shot in the contest. The Cutthroats scored both of their goals on the power play.


Plymouth trips up Kitchener 2-1 in overtime. The teams exchanged goals in the first period with Garrett Meurs recording his seventh goal of the season on the power play. After a scoreless second and third period, Meurs ended the game just 37 seconds into the overtime session. He earned first star of the game honors.

Owen Sound skates past Sudbury 3-1. The Attack won the game with two third period goals. Joseph Blandisi was called for a hooking minor in the first period. Owen Sound was 1-9 with the man advantage. Daniel Catenacci had a goal and an assist for the Attack.


Kamloops scores four times in the first period, upends Victoria 5-2. The Blazers struck three times on the power play. Colin Smith assisted on one of those power play tallies in the first period. Smith also had a power play goal of his own with two seconds remaining in the same frame. He would go on to score his 12th goal of the season late in regulation. Smith was named the second star of the game. 

Prince George nips Brandon in a shoot-out 3-2. Each team scored once on the power play. Troy Bourke did not factor in on the scoring during regulation and was unable to convert on his shoot-out opportunity. The Cougars did win the shoot-out 2-1. Colin Jacobs had two assists for Prince George.



Miami scores three times in the final period to top Michigan 4-3. The two teams split the weekend series. Luke Moffatt fired five shots on goal for the Wolverines. Austin Czarnik had two assists for the RedHawks. Michigan falls to 3-2 with the loss.

Ivy Shootout

Yale trims Princeton in the third place game 3-2. Gus Young had two shots on goal for the Bulldogs and had a plus two rating. Jesse Root had a goal and an assist for Yale. Each club scored once on the power play.



Rögle BK skates past Linköpings HC 4-3. All three goals for Linköpings came in the final period. Joachim Nermark had one shot on goal in under seven minutes of ice time. He was minus one for the game.
