Oklahoma City scores late, edges Lake Erie 3-2. After winning a thrilling home opener, the Monsters found themselves down 2-0 after the first period in a rematch with the Barons. Tyson Barrie scored a dazzling goal on the power play in the second frame to cut the Oklahoma City lead in half. Paul Carey tied the game with a power play goal of his own in the third period.

While the Barons were 0-7 with the man advantage, Justin Schultz stole the game with his first goal of the season with 3:34 left in regulation. He was named the first star of the game. Calvin Pickard was the tough luck loser; stopping 29 shots in the contest. Carey was named the third star of the game.

Denver falls to Rapid City 3-1. Kieran Millan started the game after backing up Kent Patterson on Friday evening. Millan stopped 15 shots in the loss. The lone Cutthroats tally came on a power play in the second period. The club finished with 36 shots on goal.


Sault Ste. Marie trips up Plymouth 3-2 in overtime. Each club had 33 shots in the game. Garrett Meurs recorded his third goal of the season on a score early in the second period. He was called for a roughing minor in the first frame. The teams combined to go 0-9 on the power play. Andrew Fritsch scored at the 1:50 mark of the overtime session to win the game for the Greyhounds.

Owen Sound nips Peterborough in a shoot-out 5-4. Owen Sound had 47 shots in the game to the Petes 35. The teams exchanged power play goals in the opening period. Joseph Blandisi assisted on a late first period goal for the Attack. He did not convert on his shoot-out opportunity, but his club won the shoot-out 2-0.


Saskatoon ends their five game losing streak, tops Lethbridge 5-2. The Hurricanes were 0-6 with the man advantage. Duncan Siemens was plus one for the game. Brett Stovin was the offensive hero for the Memorial Cup hosts; recording a hat trick in the game.

Medicine Hat dumps Prince George 7-2. Troy Bourke was minus three for the Cougars and was penalized for tripping late in the first period. The Tigers scored three times in both the first and second periods. Boston Leier had four assists in the game for Medicine hat.



Minnesota thumps Michigan State 7-1; sweeps weekend set. The Spartans were held to a meager 11 shots on goal. Nate Condon was penalized for interference in the first period, but made up for it the second frame with his first goal of the season. Michigan State finished 0-2 on the power play.



Linköpings HC skates past Timrå IK 3-1. Joachim Nermark had his first point of the season with an assist on Linköpings third goal of the game. He was not credited with a hit or a shot on goal in the contest.

Brynäs IF upends Växjö Lakers HC 2-1. Jonas Holos had the secondary assist on the lone Lakers goal in the second period. He had over 24 minutes of ice time for his club.
