There was not any scoring in the first period. Mark Olver opened the scoring with his first goal of the season in the second frame. It was Olver's third game since returning from concussion like symptoms. Luke Walker (5) gave the Monsters a 2-0 lead early in the third period with a power play tally.
The Monsters would eventually relinquish the lead before Jessiman could be the overtime winner. New addition, Gerald Coleman, started his first game for the Monsters and made 27 saves. He was named the first star of the game.
Ottawa hammers Belleville 6-1. The 67's scored three times in the first and second periods. The clubs combined to go 0-5 on the power play. Stephen Silas was minus two for the Bulls. Belleville has dropped back-to-back games.
Val-d'Or shuts out Blainville-Boisbriand 1-0. The Armada had a 27-23 shot advantage. Gabriel Beaupre had a single shot on goal in the contest and ended the game with a plus one rating. Despite the win, the Foreurs are two games under 0.500.
Saskatoon scores four times in the first period, skates past Regina 7-4. Duncan Siemens had the lone assist on the opening tally, which was scored just 18 seconds into the game. In the third period, Siemens received an instigating minor, fighting major, and 10-minute misconduct penalty. The Blades extend their winning streak to five games.
At the home of the Cleveland Indians, Progressive Field, Michigan upends Ohio State 4-1. The Buckeyes were out shot 42-32. Luke Moffatt had a single shot on net for the Wolverines, and was even for the game. Michigan improves to 14-8-4 with the win.
Yale falls to Clarkson in overtime 5-4. Four power play goals were scored in the game. Gus Young was plus two as he skated on the third defensive pairing for the Bulldogs. He fired two shots on net. Yale falls to 8-7-2.
