OHL

Plymouth hammers Kitchener 6-1. The Whalers scored three times in both the first and second periods. Garrett Meurs had a plus two rating in the game. He also assisted on a first period tally for the Whalers. Plymouth extends their winning streak to seven games.

QMJHL

Shawinigan scores four times in the first period, dumps PEI 8-2. The Cataractes scored twice on five power play opportunities. Dillon Donnelly was involved in a fight during the first period. The Rockets were out shot 44-18. Shawinigan leads the league with 66 points.

Val-d'Or falls to Victoriaville 6-1. Four of the six goals scored by the Tigres came on the power play. Gabriel Beaupre was credited with one hit and one shot in the game. He received an instagator penalty, fighting major, and a misconduct penalty past the mid way point in the second frame. The Foreurs have won only three of their last 10 games.

WHL

Saskatoon skates past Swift Current 4-1. The Blades doubled up the Broncos in shots 40-20. Duncan Siemens was minus one on the night. Saskatoon has won three games in a row.

Kamloops throttles Seattle 7-1. The Blazers scored five times in the first period. Calvin Pickard had a short night for the Thunderbirds. He was pulled at the 6:02 mark of the first period after surrendering four goals on nine shots. Seattle has dropped five games in a row.

Portland trims Kelowna 2-1. The Rockets had a slight edge in shots 38-37. Troy Rutkowski was plus one for the contest. The Winterhawks have won back-to-back games.

NCAA

CCHA

Michigan blanks Ohio State 4-0. The teams combined to go 0-9 on the power play. The Buckeyes had a 46-33 shot advantage. Luke Moffatt fired one shot on net for the Wolverines and was plus one for the game. Michigan improves to 13-8-4.

Hockey East

Boston University edges Northeastern 4-3. Three power play goals were scored in the game. Kieran Millan stopped 31 shots in the contest. BU improves to 12-6-1 with the win.

Massachusetts stuns Boston College 4-0. The Eagles fired 35 shots on goal, but were 0-6 on the power play. Paul Carey was minus two for BC. He was penalized for roughing in the first period. Boston College falls to 13-8-1.

WCHA

North Dakota nips Minnesota 2-1. Neither club was able to score on the power play. Nate Condon launched three shots on goal and was even for the Gophers. He found himself in the penalty box for roughing in the second period. Kent Patterson lost his eighth game of the season. He stopped 23 shots in the contest.

Europe

KHL

CSKA upends Dinamo R 2-1. Denis Parshin had four shots in the game, but did not score in the contest.

SM-Liiga

TPS tops Ilves 3-2. Sami Aittokallio started his first game for Ilves since the World Junior Championship. He made 26 saves in the game.
