North Division Semifinals -- Best of 7 -- Game 1

Lake Erie takes game one; tops Manitoba 6-4. Matt Ford was the offensive star for the Monsters. He scored the first playoff goal in Monsters history early in the first period and also scored past the halfway mark of the final period. He was named the first star of the game.

After falling behind 2-1 to start the second period, Justin Mercier scored a short-handed tally at the 1:41 mark of the second frame to tie the game. Ben Walter would give the Monsters a 3-2 lead on the power play. Newcomer Brad Malone would record his first professional point by assisting on Ryan Stoa's first postseason goal, to give Lake Erie a two goal lead at the end of two periods.

The Moose scored 20 seconds into the third period to cut the Monsters lead to one. Ford would later score his second goal of the game, which would turn into the eventual game winner. Mark Olver secured the win with an empty net tally.

Jason Bacashihua stopped 21 shots in the game. Mercier earned second star of the game honors. Stefan Elliott has signed his amateur tryout and will wear number 12 with the Monsters. Game two is set for Sunday afternoon.

Berry Conference Semifinals -- Best of 5 -- 1-0 Tulsa

Bossier-Shreveport hammers Tulsa 6-1. The Mudbugs dominated in shots 41-18. Trevor Cann was pulled in the second period after giving up four goals on 21 shots. Three of the Mudbugs goals came on the power play. The series shifts to Tulsa on Tuesday night.
