AHL

Rockford edges Lake Erie 3-2. The clubs split the two game weekend set. After falling behind 2-0, the Monsters received goals from Justin Mercier (10) and David Van der Gulik (10) in the second period. Yet, Lake Erie was unable to come back from an early third period tally by the IceHogs.

Jason Bacashihua made 26 saves in the loss. Neither team was able to convert on the power play. Van der Gulik was named the third star of the game. The Monsters fall to 32-25-3-5.

CHL

Tulsa holds off Odessa 7-6. Tom Fritsche was penalized for holding in the second period. He assisted on what turned out to be the game winning goal for the Oilers in the final frame. Trevor Cann did not start the game. Tulsa improves to 31-24-2.

OHL

Belleville stuns Kitchener 3-0. Brandon Maxwell served as the backup goaltender for the Rangers. Stephen Silas recorded his second goal of the season and was plus one for the game. The Rangers were 0-2 on the power play. Belleville won just their 19th game of the season.

WHL

Saskatoon dumps Moose Jaw 7-2. The Warriors were held to just 18 shots on goal. Stefan Elliott assisted on a short-handed goal scored in the second period. He was plus five for the contest. The Blades have won four games in row.

Portland blanks Vancouver 5-0. The Winterhawks had a 40-29 shot advantage. Troy Rutkowski assisted on a first period goal and finished the game with a plus two rating. Portland has won four straight.

Kelowna upends Lethbridge 5-2. Tyson Barrie scored once in the first period and added a power play goal in the second frame. He also assisted on a power play tally in the third period. Barrie was named the first star of the game. The Rockets have won seven of their last 10 games.

Seattle trips up Everett in overtime 3-2. Calvin Pickard stopped 31 of 33 shots to earn his 25th win of the season. The Silvertips were unable to convert on four power play opportunities. The Thunderbirds have won three of their last four games.

NCAA

Hockey East

Northeastern trims Boston University 4-3. The Huskies were 0-8 on the power play. Kieran Millan allowed all four goals on 34 shots. These same two clubs will face each other in the opening round of the conference tournament.

Boston College nips New Hampshire 4-3. The Eagles are the regular season conference champions. Paul Carey assisted on an early third period goal scored by BC. He finished with a shot on goal and a plus one rating. The Eagles will play Massachusetts in the quarter-finals of the Hockey East Tournament.

WCHA

Minnesota skates past Bemidji State 3-2 in overtime. Nate Condon was held to a single shot on net. He was even for the game. Kent Patterson stopped 29 shots to earn his 14th win of the season. The Gophers will host Alaska-Anchorage in the first round of the WCHA playoffs.

North Dakota destroys Michigan Tech 11-2. These two clubs will meet in the opening round of the WCHA playoffs. Brad Malone fired five shots on net and recorded his 12th goal of the season. He also had a power play assist and was penalized for slashing in the second period. The Fighting Sioux scored five power play goals in the game.
