AHL

Lake Erie trips up Rockford in overtime 3-2. The Monsters have won eight of their last 10 games. After falling behind 2-1, Mark Olver (23) tied the game on the power play early in the third period. The overtime hero was Matt Ford, who also had the first Monsters goal. 

Ford has 20 goals this season for the Monsters. He was named the first star of the game. Jason Bacashihua stopped 30 shots to earn third star of the game honors. Olver was the second star of the contest. The Monsters and IceHogs will face-off again on Saturday.

Odessa skates past Tulsa 7-5. Tom Fritsche assisted on a third period goal. He finished with a shot on net. Trevor Cann stopped 23 shots in the loss. His record drops to 13-8-1. The Oilers are six games over 0.500.

OHL

Kitchener edges Kingston in a shoot-out 4-3. Brandon Maxwell stopped 36 shots during regulation and in overtime. He stopped all three Kingston attempts in the shoot-out. Maxwell was named the third star of the game. The Rangers have won two games in a row.

WHL

Saskatoon thumps Kootenay 9-2. The Blades have won seven of their last 10 games. Stefan Elliott scored power play goals in the first and third periods. He was plus two for the contest and named the third star of the game. Elliott has reached the 30 goal mark on the season. 

Portland hammers Seattle 9-1. The Thunderbirds gave up 58 shots on goal. Calvin Pickard was pulled after the second period. He allowed five goals on 42 shots. Troy Rutkowski notched his ninth goal of the season on a power play in the second period. He added two assists and was plus one for the game. Portland has won three straight.

Chilliwack blanks Kelowna 1-0. The Bruins had a 30-29 shot advantage. Tyson Barrie was not on the ice for the lone tally. The loss ends a four game winning streak for the Rockets.

NCAA

Hockey East

Boston College shuts down New Hampshire 4-0. Paul Carey was held to a single shot on net. He was even for the game. The Eagles improve to 25-7-1.

Boston University trims Northeastern 3-2. Kieran Millan turned in a strong performance, stopping 39 of 41 shots. Millan has been the starter for 15 of the Terriers 18 wins this season.

WCHA

Minnesota and Bemidji State skate to a 3-3 tie. Nate Condon assisted on a third period goal for the Gophers. He was credited with one shot on net and a plus one rating. Kent Patterson made 33 saves in the tie.

North Dakota dumps Michigan Tech 6-1. The Fighting Sioux dominated in shots 45-19. Brad Malone assisted on a first period goal and scored his 11th goal of the season late in the final frame. North Dakota improves to 25-8-3.
