Lake Erie edges Toronto in a shoot-out 3-2. The Monsters winning streak reaches eight games. Joel Chouinard was credited with his eighth goal of the season, late in the first period, after the Monsters fell behind 1-0. The teams would exchange goals in the third period. Greg Mauldin found the back of the net for his 17th of the season.
Mauldin and Luke Walker scored for Lake Erie in the shoot-out. John Grahame stopped 37 shots in regulation and overtime. Only former Denver Pioneer, Joe Colborne, was able to beat him in the shoot-out. Grahame has 18 wins on the season and was named the second star of the game. The Monsters will next take the ice on Wednesday against Rockford.
Eastern Conference Quarterfinals -- Best of 7 -- 1-0 Mississauga
Mississauga blanks Belleville 1-0. The Majors lead the best of seven series 2-0. The Bulls were unable to score on any of their five power play opportunities. Stephen Silas was penalized for roughing in the second period. Game three is set for Sunday.
Western Conference Quarterfinals -- Best of 7 -- 1-0 Owen Sound
London rolls over Owen Sound 5-1. The Knights tie the series at one game a piece. London had five goals on 29 shots; whereas Owen Sound was only able to beat Michael Houser once on a whopping 53 shots. Joey Hishon had the secondary assist on the lone goal scored by the Attack. Owen Sound was 0-5 on the power play.
Western Conference Quarterfinals -- Best of 7 -- 1-0 Plymouth
Plymouth trips up Kitchener 3-2 in overtime. The Whalers have taken the first two games of the series. Kitchener gave up a 2-0 lead in the third period. Brandon Maxwell stopped 35 shots in the loss. The Rangers were 1-9 on the power play.
Eastern Conference Quarterfinals -- Best of 7 -- Game 1
Saskatoon hammers Prince Albert 8-1. The Blades take the first game of the series. Stefan Elliott recorded his first goal of the post season in a four goal second period for Saskatoon. He was plus two for the game. Neither club was able to convert on the power play. The series will resume between the two clubs on Sunday.

Portland shuts out Everett 4-0; takes first game of series. The Winterhawks had a 45-32 shot advantage. Troy Rutkowski was plus one for Portland. The Silvertips were 0-4 on the power play. The clubs will face-off again on Sunday.
Western Conference Quarterfinals -- Best of 7 - 1-0 Kelowna
Kelowna skates past Prince George 7-4. The Rockets scored four times in the third period. Tyson Barrie scored his first goal of the playoffs late in the second period. He was plus two for the contest. Kelowna scored twice with the man advantage. Game three is set for Tuesday.
Midwest Regional (Green Bay, WI) -- Semifinals
North Dakota dumps RPI 6-0. The Fighting Sioux dominated in shots 41-20. Brad Malone scored the first two goals for the Sioux on five shots. The second of those two goals was on the power play. He was penalized for high sticking late in the second period. North Dakota will face Denver on Sunday for the right to go to the Frozen Four.
West Regional (St. Louis, MO) -- Final
Michigan holds off Colorado College 2-1. The Wolverines advance to the Frozen Four. Michigan controlled most of the game and fired 43 shots on net. Three of those shots belonged to freshman forward Luke Moffatt. The Arizona native was even for the game. The starting netminder for Michigan, Shawn Hunwick, is the brother of Avalanche defenseman Matt Hunwick.
