Lake Erie holds off Milwaukee 3-2. The Monsters have won four games in a row. After a scoreless first period, Greg Mauldin (14) and Justin Mercier (12) scored in the second frame. Julien Brouillette scored his first goal in a Monsters uniform at the 9:46 mark of the third period. The Admirals made it a close game with two goals in the last minute of regulation.

John Grahame stopped 25 shots to earn his 16th win of the season. Milwaukee was unable to score on six power play opportunities. David Van der Gulik contributed with two assists and was named the second star of the game. Grahame and Mercier were named the first and third stars of the game respectively.

With the victory, the Monsters move into second place of the North Division with 80 points. They trail first place Manitoba by two points with a game in hand. The Monsters conclude their five game road trip on Sunday in Peoria.

Sudbury upends Belleville 6-3. The Bulls have dropped three games in a row. Stephen Silas recorded his second tally of the season on a power play in the second period. He finished minus two for the game. The Bulls comclude the regular season on Sunday afternoon against Brampton.


Saskatoon skates past Regina 4-2. The Blades had a 38-28 shot advantage. Stefan Elliott was plus one for the contest and assisted on a second period power play goal. Each team notched a power play goal. Saskatoon finishes the regular season with the league's best record of 56-13-1-2. Elliott finished with 31 goals and 50 assists in 71 games. 

Vancouver nips Kelowna 4-3. Each club had a power play tally. Tyson Barrie assisted on a third period power play goal. The Rockets will enter the playoffs as the second seed in the Western Conference. Barrie finished the regular season with 11 goals and 47 assists in 54 games.

Portland edges Seattle 5-4. The Thunderbirds are eliminated from playoff contention. Calvin Pickard stopped 48 shots in a losing effort. Troy Rutkowski did not factor in on the scoring and was plus one for the contest. Portland has won five games in a row and nine of their last 10.


CCHA Tournament Third Place Game (Detroit, MI)

Michigan doubles up Notre Dame 4-2. Luke Moffatt skated on the fourth line for the Wolverines and was held without a shot on goal. He was even for the game. Michigan will earn an at-large bid to the 2011 NCAA Hockey tournament.

Hockey East Championship Game (Boston, MA)

Merrimack falls to Boston College 5-3. The Eagles win the conference playoff championship and will be a number one seed in the national tournament. Paul Carey fired three shots on net and skated on the second line for BC. He was even for the contest.

WCHA Final Five Championship Game (St. Paul, MN)

North Dakota trims Denver in double overtime 3-2. North Dakota has won both the regular season (MacNaughton) and post-season (Broadmoor) conference titles. They will be a number one seed in the upcoming national tournament. Brad Malone had a relatively quiet game for the Fighting Sioux. He was minus one and fired two shots on goal.


SM-Liiga Quarterfinals -- Best of 7 -- 1-0 JYP

JYP trips up Ilves 2-1. JYP now leads the series 2-0. Sami Aittokallio made 28 saves in the loss. Game three is set for Monday.
