Lake Erie edges Grand Rapids 3-2. The Monsters are in a first place tie with the Hamilton Bulldogs for top spot in the North Division. After falling behind 1-0, the Monsters received three straight goals from Greg Mauldin (9), David Van der Gulik (9) and Patrick Bordeleau (2).
Jason Bacashihua stopped 36 shots and was named the third star of the game. Van der Gulik and Mauldin were named the first and second stars. The Monsters will host Rockford for two games next weekend.
Tulsa trips up Mississippi in overtime 3-2. Tom Fritsche was held without a shot on net. Trevor Cann made 38 saves and won his 12th game of the season. The Oilers are seven games over 0.500.
Erie trims Kitchener 2-1. Brandon Maxwell stopped 26 shots in the loss. He has lost 12 games in regulation this season. The loss ends a three game winning streak for the Rangers.
Belleville stuns Mississauga 4-1. Stephen Silas assisted on three of the four Bulls goals. He was also plus two for the game. Silas was named the third star of the contest. Belleville has won two games in a row.
Saskatoon nips Moose Jaw in a shoot-out 2-1. Stefan Elliott recorded his 26th goal of the season. He did not participate in the shoot-out for the Blades. Elliott has tied his goal production from the 2009-10 season.
Kelowna skates past Calgary in overtime 4-3. Tyson Barrie assisted on two second period goals for the Rockets. He was even for the contest. Neither club was able to score on the power play. Kelowna improves to 36-25-0-1.
Portland upends Seattle 4-3. The Winterhawks fired 56 shots on Calvin Pickard and the netminder stopped 52 of those shots. Pickard was credited with an assist on the third Thunderbirds goal. Troy Rutkowski was plus one for Portland. Seattle has dropped their last two games.
Michigan blanks Northern Michigan 5-0; the Wolverines sweep the two game set. Luke Moffatt returned to the lineup and fired three shots on net. He did not factor in on any of the Wolverines goals and was even for the game. Michigan improves to 23-9-4.
Vermont falls to Boston University 3-1. Two of the Terriers goals came on the power play. Kieran Millan stopped 27 shots for BU and was named the first star of the game. His record improves to 14-7-8.
Minnesota tops Michigan Tech 5-2. Forward Nate Condon was held without a shot on goal. Kent Patterson made 24 saves en route to his 13th win of the season. The Gophers have the fifth best record in the conference.
North Dakota dumps Bemidji State 5-2. Brad Malone did not factor in on the scoring, but did have four shots on goal for the Fighting Sioux. North Dakota has 18 conference wins and 23 wins overall this season.
Ilves beats Blues 4-1. Sami Aittokallio had a strong game for Ilves, stopping 44 shots. He has won three straight games.
