Friday Scoreboard


Lake Erie uses three second period goals to take out Rockford 4-1. After a scoreless first period, the Monsters were staked to a 3-1 lead in the second frame on goals by Greg Mauldin (5), Hugh Jessiman (8), and Ryan Stoa (3). Stoa would cap off the scoring in the third period with his second goal of the game. He was named the second star of the game.

Brad Malone, who earned third star of the game honors, added two assists and three shots on net. He was also involved in a fight in the first period. Trevor Cann was the first star of the game with 34 saves. He has five wins on the season. The Monsters will pay a visit to the Charlotte Checkers on Sunday afternoon.

Plymouth trips up Sault Ste. Marie in overtime 4-3. Garrett Meurs was the offensive star for the Whalers. He scored the game tying goal with 33 seconds remaining in regulation and scored the game winner at 1:19 in the overtime session. Meurs also assisted on a goal scored earlier in the third period. Plymouth has won eight of their last 10 games.

Belleville stomps Kingston 8-1. The Bulls scored six times in the third period. Stephen Silas assisted on a third period power play goal. Overall, Belleville was 3-8 with the man advantage. The have won five games in a row.


Shawinigan upends Acadie-Bathurst 3-1. The clubs combined to go 0-11 on the power play. Dillon Donnelly served delay of game and hooking penalties in the second and third periods respectively. He finished plus one on the night. The Cataractes are winners of three games in a row.

Victoriaville hammers Val-d'Or 6-1. The Tigres had a 32-25 shot advantage. Gabriel Beaupre had the primary assist on the lone tally scored by the Foreurs. Val-d'Or drops to 13-15-0-3 on the season.


Saskatoon edges Medicine Hat 2-1. Duncan Siemens was even for the game. The Blades dominated in shots 45-24 and the club scored once on the power play. The Blades lead the East Division with a 19-9-0-1 record.

Portland scores three times in the third period, storms past Everett 5-1. The Silvertips were 0-5 on the power play. Troy Rutkowski was plus one for the game. The Winterhawks are on a three game winning streak and have won eight of their last 10 games.

Tri-city doubles up Seattle 4-2. Calvin Pickard allowed three goals on 38 shots. Three goals were scored on the power play during the contest. The Thunderbirds are now two games under 0.500.



Alaska-Fairbanks trims Michigan 4-3. The two teams combined to go 0-8 on the power play. Luke Moffatt fired one shot on goal while skating on the fourth line for Michigan. He was even for the game. The Wolverines drop to 7-8-2 with the loss.

Hockey East

Boston University holds off Boston College 5-3. The Eagles dominated in shots 45-15. Each club scored twice on the power play. Paul Carey had two shots for BC and was minus one on the night. He was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct late in the first period. Kieran Millan stopped 42 shots and earned first star of the game honors. BU improves to 8-4-1 on the season.


Minnesota scores twice in the third period, takes down Minnesota State 4-2. Each club was 1-5 with the man advantage. Nate Condon assisted on the opening tally scored by the Gophers at the 1:38 mark of the first period. He finished with three shots and a plus one rating. Kent Patterson stopped 22 shots to earn his 12th win of the season.
