Saturday Scoreboard


Lake Erie falls to Abbotsford 3-1. The Monsters lost both weekend games to the Heat. The lone Lake Erie goal was scored by Hugh Jessiman in the second period. It was his 10th tally of the season. The Monsters were 0-2 on the power play.

Cedrick Desjardins stopped 23 shots in the loss. The Monsters drop to 11-13-1-1 on the season. Lake Erie's next game is on Wednesday in Hamilton.

Plymouth scores twice in the third period, upends Sarnia 4-1. The Whalers fired 47 shots on net. Garrett Meurs scored an even strength goal in the second period and a short-handed tally in the third frame. He was plus three for the contest and was named the first star of the game. Plymouth has won four games in a row.

Saginaw comes back to beat Belleville 6-4. The Bulls were 0-5 on the power play. Defenseman Stephen Silas was minus one for the contest. Belleville has dropped three straight.


Drummondville edges Val-d'Or in a shoot-out 3-2. The Foreurs were held to 18 shots. The club was also 0-6 on the power play. Gabriel Beaupre was caught for high-sticking in the first period and kneeing in the third. Val-d'Or is winless in their last two games.


Saskatoon doubles up Regina 4-2. The Pats had a 42-25 shot advantage. Each club struck once on the power play. Duncan Siemens assisted on two third period goals and had a plus one rating in the game. The Blades are 5-5 in their last 10 games.

Seattle nips Victoria in a shoot-out 4-3. All three goals for the Royals came on the power play. Calvin Pickard made 35 saves for the Thunderbirds. He stopped all three Victoria attempts in the shoot-out. Seattle is 5-4-0-1 in their last 10 games.



Michigan and Michigan State skate to a 3-3 tie; MSU wins the shoot-out 1-0. The game only featured three power plays. Luke Moffatt moved up to the second line to start the game. He had six shots on net and recorded his third goal of the season in the second period. He was plus one on the night.

Hockey East

Boston University dumps Maine 5-1. The Terriers had a slight edge in shots 32-31. Kieran Millan earned his eighth win of the season with 30 saves. He was also named the second star of the game. BU improves to 10-5-1.


Minnesota scores four third period goals, hammers Michigan Tech 6-2. The clubs split the weekend series. Nate Condon was held to one shot on goal and was even for the game. Kent Patterson stopped 21 shots and is now 14-5-1 on the season. The game turned ugly late in regulation; several roughing penalties were handed out.



MODO Hockey trims Växjö Lakers HC 4-3 in a shoot-out. Jonas Holos assisted on a goal scored late in the second period. He recorded a shot on goal in nearly 28 minutes of ice time.


HIFK upends Ilves 3-0. Sami Aittokallio had 20 saves in the loss.
