Abbotsford blanks Lake Erie 2-0. Neither club was able to score on the power play. Cedrick Desjardins returned to the starting net and stopped 38 shots for the Monsters. He was named the third star of the game. Ryan Stoa led the Monsters in shots with six. The two clubs will square off again on Saturday night.

Plymouth scores four times in the first, holds off Belleville 4-3. Three power play goals were scored in the game. Garrett Meurs was plus one on the evening and was penalized for interference in the second period. Stephen Silas recorded an assist on a third period goal for the Bulls and he was penalized for slashing in the second frame. Belleville has dropped two straight games.


Blainville-Boisbriand hammers Val-d'Or 6-1. The Foreurs were held to 14 shots on goal. Two of the Armada goals came on the power play. Gabriel Beaupre was minus one on the night. He was caught for slashing early in the third period. 

Shawinigan shuts down Drummondville 3-0. The Cataractes were 1-5 with the man advantage. Dillon Donnelly had two shots on net for Shawinigan. The club has won six of their last 10 games.


Portland falls to Vancouver 5-3. The Winterhawks had 49 shots on net. Troy Rutkowski recorded his sixth goal of the season in the later stages of the first period. Each club scored twice on the power play. Portland falls to 20-10-2-1. 

Prince George trims Seattle 1-0. The Thunderbirds were 0-3 on the power play. Calvin Pickard stopped 37 shots in the loss. He was named the third star of the game. Seattle has lost three contests in a row.



Michigan edges Michigan State 4-3. The Spartans scored twice on the power play. Luke Moffatt continues to skate on the fourth line for the Wolverines. He was penalized for interference in the third period and had one shot in the game. Michigan improves to 9-8-2 with the victory.

Hockey East

UMass-Lowell skates past Boston College 3-2. Each club was successful once on the power play. Paul Carey had four shots on net for the Eagles, but came up empty handed. He was penalized for hooking in the first frame. BC falls to 12-6-0.


Michigan Tech stuns Minnesota in overtime 3-2. The Gophers failed to convert on any of their four power play chances. Nate Condon assisted on a third period tally that tied the game at two for Minnesota. Kent Patterson made 23 saves. The winning tally was scored 33 seconds into the overtime session.



Avangard nips CSKA 3-2. Denis Parshin scored a third period goal and finished with three shots in the game. Parshin has two goals in nine games this season.
