Lake Erie is shut down by rival Grand Rapids 3-0. The Monsters fired 27 shots on goal; Ryan Stoa and Evan Brophey had five shots each. The game got a little wild in the second period when a couple of fights broke out. Cedrick Desjardins stopped 35 shots in the loss. The Monsters were 0-4 on the power play.
OHL
Belleville trims Ottawa in overtime 6-5. The Bulls had a 41-26 shot advantage. Stephen Silas assisted on a second period goal and had the secondary assist on the game winning tally. He was also involved in a first period fight. Ottawa was unable to convert on either of their power play opportunities.
WHL
Saskatoon skates past Calgary 4-1. Blades captain, Duncan Siemens, was plus one on the evening. Neither club was able to score on the power play. Saskatoon improves to 10-5-0-1.
Portland doubles up Kamloops 4-2. Troy Rutkowski was minus one for the game. He was penalized for roughing in the second period and was also involved in a fight later in the same period. Each club scored once with the man advantage.
