Houston upends Lake Erie 5-3. Much like their NHL counterpart, the Monsters are having difficulty winning at home. They have won just two of seven games on home ice. After falling behind 2-0 at the end of the first period, Hugh Jessiman recorded his second goal of the season in the second period. He would record his second goal of the game in the third period and earned second star of the game honors.
David Van der Gulik (3) had the third goal for the Monsters in the later stages of the third period. It was the lone power play goal scored by the Monsters on the evening. Cameron Gaunce included two assists to go along with his plus two rating on the evening. Trevor Cann made 18 saves in the loss.
Cape Breton fires 46 shots on net, edges Val-d'Or 6-5. Gabriel Beaupre was penalized for roughing in the second period. The clubs combined to score five power play goals in the game. Beaupre was minus one on the night.
Växjö Lakers HC falls to HV71 4-2. HV71 scored all four goals in the third period. Jonas Holos was held without a shot on goal and was minus one for the game.
