WHL

Portland scores five times in the first period, dumps Swift Current 6-2. Each club scored twice on the power play. Troy Rutkowski assisted on one of the first period tallies for the Winterhawks. The game turned ugly in the third period and featured several fights. Portland has won back to back games.

Union doubles up Michigan 6-3. The Wolverines fall to 7-7-2 with the loss. Each club had 36 shots on net. Luke Moffatt fired two shots on goal, but did not record a point on the afternoon. He was even for the contest. He was also called for slashing in the second period.

Djurgårdens IF tops the Växjö Lakers HC 4-2. Djurgårdens scored three times in the second period. Jonas Holos recorded an assist on a third period power play goal. He was credited with one hit and had one shot in the game.
