AHL

Lake Erie scores three times in the third period, comes back to beat Hershey 5-4. Brad Malone scored the game winning tally with 21 seconds remaining in regulation. The Monsters fell behind 3-1 after the first period, Luke Walker (3) had the only Lake Erie goal in the first frame.

Evan Brophey (7) pulled the Monsters within one with a second period power play goal. Hugh Jessiman (7) and Justin Mercier (4) gave Lake Erie a 4-3 lead in the third frame. However, the Bears would tie it up with 53 seconds remaining in the period. That was before Malone would spoil the party and stun the crowd with the game winner 32 seconds later.

Trevor Cann stopped 29 shots to earn his fourth win of the season. Ryan Stoa and Tyson Barrie added three and two assists respectively. The Monsters have now won five of their last six games. Lake Erie will host Houston on Wednesday.

Plymouth falls to Guelph 4-1. The lone Whalers tally came on the power play. Garrett Meurs was even for the contest. Plymouth has dropped back to back games.

QMJHL

Shawinigan doubles up Rimouski 6-3. Six goals were scored between the two clubs in the third period. Dillon Donnelly was plus one for the game and was credited with one hit in the contest. Each team scored twice on the power play. The Cataractes have won seven of their last ten games.

Val-d'Or edges Baie-Comeau 5-4. The Foreurs only had 18 shots on net. Each club scored twice with the man advantage. Gabriel Beaupre had two hits in the contest and finished plus one on the night. He was also called for high sticking in the second period. Val'd-Or has won three of their last four.

WHL

Vancouver upends Saskatoon 4-1. The Giants held a 43-28 shot advantage. Saskatoon finished 0-6 on the power play. Duncan Siemens was minus one for the evening. The Blades have lost two in a row.

NCAA

Non-Conference

Boston University trips up Cornell in overtime 2-1. The Terriers had a slight edge in shots 27-24. Kieran Millan made 23 saves to earn his fifth win of the season. Overall, BU improves to 7-4-1 with the win.

Minnesota and Michigan State skate to a 4-4 tie. The Spartans earn three out of four points on the weekend. Nate Condon fired four shots on goal, but came up empty handed. He was plus one for the game. Kent Patterson made 27 saves for the Gophers. Minnesota's record stands at 11-4-1 after the two-game set.

Boston College edges Yale 3-2. The clubs combined to go 0-12 on the power play. Paul Carey had six shots on net for the Eagles and recorded his third goal of the season in the second period. Gus Young did not record a shot on goal for the Bulldogs, but did assist on the opening goal for Yale. BC improves to 10-4-0.
