Friday Scoreboard


Lake Erie hammers Hamilton 5-1. The Monsters had a 47-22 shot advantage in the game. Lake Erie received first period goals from Justin Mercier (3) and Brad Malone (3). The club opened the game up in the second period with power play goals by Evan Brophey (6) and Cameron Gaunce (2).

Hugh Jessiman would complete the scoring for the Monsters with his sixth goal of the season. Malone, who was named the first star of the game, added two assists. Cedrick Desjardins allowed a power play goal in the first period. He has five wins on the season. The Monsters as a team have won four of their last five games. The club will visit the Hershey Bears on Saturday.

Peterborough scores late, stuns Belleville 4-3. The winning tally came with 1:49 remaining in regulation. The Whalers were unable to score on either of their power play opportunities. Garrett Meurs recorded his 10th goal of the season in the opening period. The Whalers had won eight on nine games prior to the loss.

Belleville dumps Guelph 6-0. Neither club was able to score on the power play. Stephen Silas was held off the score sheet, but had a plus two rating on the night. He was penalized for cross-checking early in the third period. The Bulls have won two games in a row.


Shawinigan trips up Chicoutimi in a shoot-out 3-2. The clubs combined to go 0-5 on the power play. Dillon Donnelly was minus one in the game and recorded a shot on goal. He was nailed for high sticking in the second period. The Cataractes won the shoot-out 2-1.

Val-d'Or trims Acadie-Bathurst in a shoot-out 5-4. Each club scored twice on the power play. Gabriel Beaupre was penalized for holding in the first period, served a delay of game penalty in the second, and was called for boarding late in the third. He ended the game with a shot on goal and a plus one rating. Val-d'Or won the shoot-out 2-1.


Spokane falls to Portland 5-3. The Chiefs had a 49-39 shot advantage. Troy Rutkowski did not factor in on the scoring and was even for the game. Each club scored once on the power play. The Winterhawks have won eight of their last 10 games.

Calgary topples Saskatoon 6-2. The loss ends an eight game winning streak for the Blades. Saskatoon was 0-5 on the power play. Duncan Siemens was plus one for the game. 

Prince George nips Seattle in a shoot-out 3-2. The Thunderbirds held a 34-29 shot advantage. The Cougars were 0-5 on the power play. Calvin Pickard made 26 saves and allowed the only goal in the shoot-out. 



Michigan State scores twice in the third period, edges Minnesota 4-3. Kent Patterson gave up four goals on 23 shots. His overall record falls to 11-4-0. Nate Condon centered the third line for the Gophers, but was held to a single shot on net. The Spartans improve to 8-5-0 with the win.

Northeastern upends Michigan 4-1. The Wolverines are now just a game above 0.500. Luke Moffatt did not have a shot in the game and was minus one for the evening. The Huskies finished 1-3 on the power play and won just their fourth game of the season.



Ässät skates past Ilves 5-2. The Aces scored three times in the third period. Sami Aittokallio made 33 saves in the loss.
