Friday Scoreboard

OHL

Plymouth scores twice in the third period, skates past London 4-1. Garrett Meurs assisted on one of those third period tallies and he finished plus one for the contest. He was also called for slashing in the first period. The Whalers had a 45-23 shot advantage in the game and finished 1-9 on the power play.

QMJHL

Shawinigan trips up Chicoutimi in overtime 4-3. Dillon Donnelly had the lone assist on the game tying goal scored at the 9:43 mark of the third period. He was penalized for cross-checking late in the second frame.  The Saguenéens were 0-4 on the power play.

WHL

Portland dumps Everett 7-3. Troy Rutkowski opened the scoring with his fourth goal of the season. He assisted on a third period goal and also notched a power play goal in the same frame. He was named the second star of the game. The Winterhawks had 48 shots on goal and scored three goals on the power play.

Seattle blanks Tri-City 3-0. Calvin Pickard made 43 saves and was named the first star of the game. He helped to keep the Americans power play off the board by stopping all eight of their opportunities. The Thunderbirds themselves notched one goal with the man advantage and scored all three tallies in the third frame.

NCAA

CCHA

Ohio State trims Michigan 2-1. The Wolverines were 0-4 on the power play. Luke Moffatt was moved up to the third line and fired two shots on net. He finished minus one on the evening. Michigan fell to 7-4-2 with the loss.

WCHA

Minnesota fires 43 shots on net, but falls to St. Cloud State 4-3. Kent Patterson faced 18 shots and gave up all four Huskies goals. Nate Condon was even on the night and recorded one shot on goal. Minnesota finished 1-5 on the power play.

Non-Conference

Notre Dame trips up Boston College in overtime 3-2. Each club came up empty on three power play chances a piece. Paul Carey had two shots for the Eagles, but was minus one for the game. The winning goal was scored with two seconds left in the overtime session.

Europe

Elitserien

Växjö Lakers HC falls to Djurgårdens IF 4-3. The Lakers had a 33-25 shot advantage. Jonas Holos recorded two shots on goal and ended the game with a minus two rating. He had 23:00 of ice time for Växjö.
