OHL

Belleville edges Saginaw in a shoot-out 4-3. Stephen Silas assisted on a second period tally for the Bulls. He was plus one on the evening. The Bulls were 0-5 on the power play. They had a 46-28 shot advantage in the game. Belleville won the shoot-out 1-0.

Plymouth hammers Sault Ste. Marie 8-0. The Whalers scored five times in the second period. Garrett Meurs notched his seventh goal of the season early in the second period. He was penalized for tripping in the third frame. The Whalers now have 12 wins on the season.

QMJHL

Shawinigan pounds Drummondville 6-1. Each club had 30 shots a piece and the teams combined to go 0-12 on the power play. Dillon Donnelly threw out three hits and was plus three for the game. He was penalized for cross-checking in the first period. The Cataractes have won their 16th game of the season.

Quebec dumps Val-d'Or 5-1. The Remparts scored twice on the power play. Gabriel Beaupre was penalized for holding in the opening period. He was also called for checking to the head in the third and was assessed a fighting major in the same frame. The Foreurs have lost seven of their last 10 games. 

WHL

Portland fires 51 shots on net; needs a shoot-out to beat Spokane 4-3. Troy Rutkowski assisted on a second period power play goal for the Winterhawks. It was his first point in the last seven games. Overall, the Winterhawks were 2-7 with the man advantage. The club has won four games in a row.

Saskatoon skates past Medicine Hat 5-1. The Blades had a 40-26 shot advantage. Duncan Siemens was plus one for the game. Each club scored once on the power play. Saskatoon has won four games in a row and have won seven of their last 10 games.

NCAA

CCHA

Michigan and Miami skate to a 3-3 tie; RedHawks win the shoot-out 1-0 (four rounds). Luke Moffatt had two shots on net for the Wolverines and he was even for the night. He was penalized for high sticking in the second period. Michigan finished 0-3 on the power play.

ECAC

Yale blanks Union 4-0. Union was 0-7 with the man advantage and out shot Yale 45-26. Defenseman Gus Young is still looking for his first point of the season. He had a single shot on net. The Bulldogs improve to 4-1-1 on the season.

WCHA

Minnesota scores three times in the third period, tops Wisconsin 4-1. The two clubs split their weekend series. Nate Condon had the primary assist on the game winning tally scored 6:14 into the third period. He also scored an unassisted goal later in the period to help seal the win for the Gophers. It was his fifth goal of the season. Kent Patterson was solid in net; stopping 13 shots to secure his 10th win of the season.
