Lake Erie's come back falls short, loses at home to Rochester 4-3. The Monsters entered the third period down 4-1 and received two quick power play goals from Travis Gawryletz (2) and Ryan Stoa (12). Yet, they were unable to get the equalizer. Justin Mercier opened the scoring for the Monsters in the first period with his fifth of the season.
John Grahame started the game and stopped 22 shots. The Monsters, with the loss, drop a game below 0.500 to 15-16-3-4. The team will now embark on a seven game road trip starting Friday in Houston.
Saskatoon blanks Calgary 5-0. The Blades held the edge in shots 31-29. It was a big night offensively for defenseman Stefan Elliott. The blue liner recorded his 17th goal of the season and assisted on three other Blades tallies. Elliott was named the first star of the game and his club has now reached 30 wins on the season.
Lokomotiv topples CSKA 4-1. Denis Parshin scored the lone goal for CSKA. It was his 12th tally of the season. It was also his only shot in the game. CSKA has only accumulated 44 points after 39 games played this season.
