Lake Erie doubles up Toronto 4-2. The Monsters held the Marlies to 19 shots on goal. The Monsters received two goals from Ben Walter (14, 15), who was named the first star of the game. The second star of the game was forward Greg Mauldin; who notched his sixth goal of the season in the second frame and also assisted on two others. Travis Gawryletz had two helpers to earn third star of the game honors.

Mark Olver sealed the win with his 18th tally of the season. Julian Talbot also contributed with two assists. Mauldin, Gawryletz, and Talbot were all plus four for the game. John Grahame started the game and had 17 saves. Lake Erie improved to 22-21-3-4 with the win. The Monsters hit the road on Thursday to face the Hamilton Bulldogs.

In a battle of Midwest Division contenders, Owen Sound upends Kitchener 5-3. Joey Hishon returned to the Owen Sound lineup after missing a game due to injury. Hishon assisted on two goals for the Attack. Brandon Maxwell gave up all five Attack goals on 37 shots. Owen Sound has opened a four point spread between the two clubs, but the Rangers have three games in hand.

Kingston scores four goals in the third period to beat Belleville 8-5. Stephen Silas was plus two for the contest and was penalized for holding late in the third period. The result of the penalty was the game winning goal scored by the Frontenacs. 

WHL

Saskatoon edges Edmonton 4-3. Stefan Elliott had the secondary assist on the game winning goal. The Blades stopped all four Oil Kings power play opportunities. Saskatoon improves to 36-10-0-2.

Portland throttles Chilliwack 9-2. Troy Rutkowski assisted on the opening goal scored by the Winterhawks. Portland threw 51 shots on the Bruins net. Rutkowski was plus one for the game as his club improves to 33-14-0-3.

Spartak tops CSKA 3-1. Denis Parshin was held to a single shot on net and was minus two for the contest. The forward played nearly 23 minutes in the game.
